101 Health Research Participates in the First General Meeting of the Consortium for Evidence Synthesis and Clinical Practice Guideline Development

Our Founder/Managing Director, Venus Oliva Cloma-Rosales MD MPH ME, and our COO and Chief Data Scientist, Aian Rosales MSc, were invited to attend the inaugural general meeting of the Consortium for Evidence Synthesis and Clinical Practice Guideline Development on April 3, 2025. The meeting, held at Seda Vertis North in Quezon City, gathered distinguished experts and key opinion leaders to address vital aspects of evidence synthesis and clinical practice guideline development.

The program featured a series of insightful presentations, including:

  • Dr. Divine Agustin who presented the Department of Health’s vision for a national consortium focused on CPG development and evidence synthesis.
  • Bianca Pilla who benchmarked international consortia on clinical practice guideline development and evidence synthesis.
  • Dr. Paul Ernest De Leon who provided an in-depth look at the Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) and explored opportunities for an evidence consortium.
  • Dr. Jethri Cruz who discussed the translation and utilization of Health Policy and Systems Research within the Department of Health.
  • Dr. Leonila Dans who examined the role of translational research in health policy decision-making.
  • Dr. Jacinto Blas V. Mantaring III who highlighted the significance of an evidence consortium for Health Technology Assessment.

In addition to these presentations, a forum discussion was held to deliberate on the consortium’s name, purpose, and the potential contributions from various institutions. Our leaders actively engaged in these discussions, reinforcing our commitment to driving innovation and evidence-based practices in healthcare.

Their participation not only underscores our dedication to advancing health policy but also marks an important step toward fostering a collaborative environment in the realm of clinical practice and health research. We look forward to building on these insights and contributing further to the evolution of healthcare in the Philippines.
