Today marks the start of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), spearheaded by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). Under the recurring theme “UNiTEd for a VAW-free Philippines” and this year’s sub-theme, “VAW Bigyang Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!”, we commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Anti-VAWC Act (RA 9262) and renew our collective call to action.

Violence against women is a public crime, affecting countless lives. It’s time to amplify our voices, foster respect, and ensure safe spaces for everyone. Together, we can achieve a society free from VAW.
